I love it when a client just sends me a keyword to work from. Chocolate Puma’s Dj Zki and Dobre sent me a briefing with just the word ‘Rubberband Lazer’, the name of the track. Had to be spelled with a ‘z’. I could interpret it in any way.

Its always fun to work for these guys as we share a lot of interests. I wanted to have my buddy Michael Parkinson (Maikal X) in the visual as he sings the hook (the ‘chorus’) on the track. First he was going to be on a turret operating the laser cannon, but it was much more appealing to have this ’69 Dodge van in the picture.We loooooove vintage trucks and cars. I figured out a way to combine lasers and elastic band by adding a huge Bigfoot walking through the scene. Bigfoot is a recurring theme in my work. Also nice to do a record that’s on Steve Aoki’s label Dim Mak, famous for Album art (with the Major Lazer releases and all.)

All my drawings are done using sharpies and fineliners, then scanned and colored using photoshop and some other secret procedures. No I can’t tell you which, because I’m usually ashamed to tell them as they might involve nakedness, red wine, loud singing and occult practices.
