The centennial Plaque

The Houseboat (it’s called Suzanna) was built in 1924 so it reached its 100th anniversary. It was time for a celebration with some dear old schoolmates.

We talked about the old school and all that went down back in the ’80s. Also, we had a discussion about evolution, deep down the rabbit hole, just like we did back then.

About the centennial plaque: I designed a cartouche using 3D CAD software, using authentic principles for the geometry, and I added the Acanthus leaf from the earlier ‘Ornaments’ post.

I printed the whole thing in 8 hours, and took it to the boat. Teacher liked it.

I added some primer and a layer of paint and it fits the boat really well. The recessed text needed some contrast for readability at a modest distance.

Mounted it next to the entrance. The neighbours really like it, and it gives the boat a neo- renaissance look. I am looking forward to doing more of these. Ya gotta love ornaments !
